Etuaptmumk is a Mi’kmaw saying that translates to “Two-Eyed Seeing”. This concept refers to learning how to see the strengths of Indigenous knowledge from one eye and the strengths of Western knowledge from the other. In partnership with the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition, join IAIS Educational Outreach Ambassador and Traditional Storyteller Darlene Kascak (Schaghticoke Tribal Nation) for a two-eyed seeing look at the Indigenous history of our watershed region. This presentation will also focus on the significance of the Pomperaug River and other nearby rivers to local Indigenous communities past and present.
