For generations, many Indigenous communities in the Americas have practiced a companion planting method known as the three sisters, using the combined strength of corn, beans, and squash to produce healthy gardens. Join IAIS Staff for a workshop and celebration of the renewal of life that accompanies spring after a cold, hard winter. Learn about traditional companion planting methods and seed saving efforts in Native communities, as you reconnect with the land and help start the germination process for a Three Sisters’ Garden. Together, let’s plant the seeds for new growth as we look towards the opportunities and challenges of the coming months.

Space is limited and pre-registration is requested. Please register below. Questions? Please email events@iaismuseum.org or call (860) 868-0518. Price of participation includes materials.
