How prepared would you be to survive in the local environment without twenty-first century technology? For traditional Indigenous communities of this area, fire would have been an important tool throughout the year. As winter winds to a close and we look forward to the sights and sounds of spring, it’s a perfect time to practice new skills. Join our outdoor skills specialist Griffin Kalin for an interactive workshop designed to teach the fundamentals and techniques for creating fire using traditional methods.
Please note, this is an outdoor workshop, so participants should come prepared for the weather. This workshop is intended for participants ages 8 and up. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Space is limited and pre-registration is requested. Please register online in order to reserve your space. Questions? Please email events@iaismuseum.org or call (860) 868-0518.
